iKylan: Macy Lynn Busch!

As of today, November 18, 2008, at 6:18pm, Macy Lynn Busch is now a member of this world:) It was so exciting to see her right after she was born and we are all in love already! Our trek up to Wadsworth-Rittman hospital was quite like something you'd find in a movie. We had been waiting all day to hear how labor was progressing and when we should start heading to the hospital. We figured with a first baby it would be quite some time. Not so! Even though she didn't start laboring until around noon, by 4:30 we were told to hurry and get up there because it could go quick from that point well. So we get Kylan all ready, jump in the car and start heading up on the highway. We got about 20 minutes into the trip before it started snowing really bad. The further north we drove, the worse it got, until finally the slowing traffic came to a complete halt. As snow kept pelting down on us, we sat- at a complete standstill- for almost half an hour. We were only a couple miles from the exit we needed to get off of to get to the hospital. So close, but so far away. My mom and I were texting back and forth and around 5:55 she told me Trisha was going to start pushing soon. At that point I thought we were going to miss the excitement of being there to see the baby right after she was born. Not to mention the fact that through all this idling, Ryan realized that the gas gage had gone all the way down and the gas light was on- meaning we had very little time left before we would just run out of gas. Not the kind of weather (or the kind of moment!) you want that to be happening. Thankfully, after lots of waiting, traffic began to slowly start moving along. VERY slowly though, due to the snow and ice that was now just sitting on the roads. We saw 4 accidents within a couple hundred feet. But we finally made it to the exit, got off, found the hospital, ran up to the maternity ward and after only a bit of waiting, Macy was born! Here are some first pictures.
