15 months.

As of Tuesday, May 20th Kylan is now 15 months old.  She is still the fun/crazy/energetic little girl that we've known her to be.  At this point, she:

 is 23 pounds and 6 1/2 ounces.
 is 30 inches tall.
was dubbed a "maniac" by her pediatrician due to her never ending energy ("Wow, she's a maniac" were the first words out of the doctors mouth when she walked into the room to examine her.)
is wearing mainly 12-18 month clothes (but as I always say, sizes are crazy and she can fit into everything from 6-9 months to 24 months).
wears size 3 or 4 shoes (and could be moving into some brands of 5's soon it seems).
is continuing her sign language.  Lately she's been trying to add "butterfly", "car", "boy" (which she uses for almost any child that's not a baby) and a couple others I can't remember at the moment.
is really into animal noises.  Her favorites are for "elephant", "lion", "cat", "dog", "sheep/lamb" and "horse".
is learning how to handle time-outs.  Her strong will has given us plenty of chances to employ this discipline technique.  We weren't sure if it'd be at all effective at this age or if she'd understand, but she certainly does understand and it has proven to be pretty effective.  She even already knows not to move from wherever I put her down until I come back to get her.  And for a girl as mobile and energetic as her, that's a feat of it's own.
is really trying to say so many words!  She still has only conquered a limited number (maybe 5 or 6), but she is trying very hard to imitate much of what we say.  I feel as if one day she'll just figure out how to make her tongue, mouth, lips, and teeth all work in harmony and then everything she's trying to say will all just come out perfectly- and will never stop.  She spends day in and day out babbling, so as soon as those babbles turn to words I believe we will have quite the chatter box on our hands.
 still loves music and dancing.
can identify and point to most body parts.
can identify and point to almost all of our friends/family by name.
is a huge fan of the outdoors.  It's her favorite place to be- warm or cold.
asks for Daddy all day long when he is gone at work, and when she hears the sound of the garage door opening, she runs to the door to wait for her favorite person to walk in!
is REALLY good about sleeping.  From 3 or so months on, I have been the luckiest mother in the area of sleep.  She's a champion sleeper.  She sleeps 12 hours at night and takes a good 3 or 3 1/2 hour nap each day.  I guess that's the up side of all the energy she puts out while she's awake.
loves other kids (including her continued love for her cousins Lily and Emma).  She thinks it's so cool to see other people her size.
is in LOVE with dogs.  Doesn't matter what color, size, breed, etc.  She just LOVES all of them.  My parents bought her a poster to put on the back of her bedroom door thats just covered top to bottom in dogs.  It's one of Kylan's favorite things and first thing each morning when she wakes up she asks to go look at it.  Finally, something to hold her attention.
has a few favorite "baby movies".  Baby Einstein's "First Signs" is still a favorite.  Then there's "God Made Animals" from the Praise Baby collection which she can't keep her eyes off of when it's on.  She's just recently starting to enjoy a Dora the Explorer episode or two, a few parts of Sesame Street, Blues Clues, and a new show called "Ni Hao, Kai-lan".   Yes, Kylan now has a cartoon named after her.  The spelling is different, but the pronunciation seems to be the same after watching an episode.  It's a little Chinese girl (hence the "Ni Hao" which apparently means "hello" in chinese) who goes on adventures.  Seems to be similar to Dora, but way cooler for Kylan because she hears her name constantly. (P.S. I swear she rarely watches more than 30 minutes of TV a day.  From that huge variety of shows it sounds as if all I do is sit her in front of the television!)
 likes to give High 5's.
hates diaper changing and having to put clothes on.
still loves her cat like crazy.
likes all animals/bugs and is super intrigued by them all.
 has about 14 teeth.
 still eats like a champ.
loooves brushing her teeth and cries every night when she has to put the toothbrush back in it's drawer when she's done.
gets angry/frustrated very easily when she can't communicate what she wants or doesn't get her way.
is still a lover of books.
continues to understand more and more and more of what we say, and responds to most things spoken to or directly asked of her.
always gives her parents something to talk about, chase after, keep up with, or do:)  She's the love of our life!

As usual, I'm sure I've forgotten many of the fun, funny, smart things she does each and every day, but hopefully that's a decent synopsis.
