May=crazy.

Come spring, our family starts going event-crazy with birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, etc. The insanity begins on April 30th and subsides (for the most part) after June 1st. April 30th is my brother's (Nate) birthday. Then on May 5th comes Cinco de Mayo, when we like to pretend that we somehow have some Mexican heritage to celebrate (though it's really just an excuse to eat lots of Mexican food which we all love so dearly.) Then comes Mother's Day, of course which is always a big deal. Next is my best friend Jenny's birthday on the 12th. On the 14th comes my birthday, on the 16th is my parents' wedding anniversary, and on the 20th are my parents' birthdays (yes, they share the same birthday- how cool is that?!) From there we get a one week break until Nate and Trisha's wedding anniversary on the 27th and then Ryan's birthday on the 28th. On June 1st we end with my sister Rachel's birthday. (Also thrown in throughout the month of May are a couple other friends' birthdays, a couple more people's anniversaries that we know of and different weddings yearly- but the ones I mentioned above are the one's that we do all-out celebrations for, while these may only get smaller acknowledgments.) Not to push it too much further, but then Ryan and my anniversary is on June 11th. So, needless to say, May is fun, but can be tiring and hard on the pocket book. It's crazier than Christmas due to the fact that it is not one single day, but an entire month (or more) of continual holidays and celebrations.
