18 months.

It's sometimes hard for me to believe that my "baby" is now a year and a half old.  I, again, in the interest of time (or lack there of) will just post the e-mail that I sent out to some friends and family giving an overall update on Kylan at the ripe old age of 18 months:

Kylan is officially a year and a half old now. She has been growing, changing, and learning so much each day that it's sometimes hard to keep up! At her doctor's appointment on Friday she weighed in at 23 lbs and 15 oz and was 31 and 1/2 inches tall. This means she grew an inch and a half in the last 3 months but only gained 8 and 1/2 ounces. Her doctor said she's finally started to get some height while thinning out a little bit. She's now in the 50th percentile for both height and weight (rather than usually being close to the 90th percentile for weight and only ever in the 30th percentile for height). Kylan, still as active as ever, is spending time going to the pool; pretend playing with her baby dolls and horses (2 favorites right now); playing outside with balls, bubbles, her baby pool, pulling her wagon around, etc; reading books; building blocks; listening to music; playing Daddy's guitar and Uncle Nate's drums; taking walks with Mommy; going to the park to play on the playground and feed the ducks; playing with her purse and backpack; learning to color (kind of); and many other things. Over the last month Kylan has taken a 3-family vacation down to Lake Cumberland in Kentucky, driven to 2 out of town weddings, made a trip up to the Cleveland Zoo for a day, gone to multiple cookouts and picnics, spent time with Rach before she headed back to college, had family friends in town from Virginia, gone weekly to our friends' pool with other kids and families, and much more. We are making the most of the summer before it is too quickly going to be over! Aside from all the activities, Kylan has also continued to keep up the constant language development. There's almost nothing she won't try to repeat and most words come out surprisingly well! But our favorites are usually the endearing words that actually don't come out exactly right yet. There's no way we can even try to keep up with all the words she's learning since there are so many, so it will have to suffice to say that her vocabulary is continually expanding as her mouth is constantly chattering. We hope, as always, that this finds everyone happy and well:) Love, Ryan, Sarita and Kylan
