Dez's Wedding.

My cousin, Desiree, got married this weekend. Such a fun and exciting time. Dez and I have been best friends (and cousins, but more like sisters) since the day I was born. Truly. She is only 10 months my senior, so we did everything (literally, almost everything) together growing up. From family events, to church and church events, to school, and then just social events in general we have been forever inseparable. It was like losing half of myself when my family moved away from Wheeling, WV to North Canton, OH when I was 12 (almost 13). Then, we both ended up at Malone College and were actually suite-mates for 2 of those years! Together again at last. But since then she has moved to Virginia Beach, VA, Lynchburg, VA, (then there was the possibility of moving to Dallas, TX, but lucky for me that fell through) and now will be living with her new husband in Kenova, WV for the time being. She is my oldest and truest friend, no matter our differences and sometimes the distances that have separated us. So to see this marriage (to such an amazing man, Joshua Sowards) come to fruition was a nostalgic, exciting, joyous time for me. Part of me was thinking back to our first slumber party at the ages of 1 and 2. Then to silly girl talks while playing together in my rainbow wallpapered bedroom. Then to a few more "real" (at least so we thought then) talks of our "futures" come the ages of 10 or 11. And then to the many "loves" that came and went from then to the time we each found our husbands. Now, we have both found our true loves and are fulfilling our roles as wives. Quite the road we've traveled together.
